Haptic Belts
There have been a lot of attempts, research, and field of implementation for haptic belts. It could be used for military or blindness.
Attempts involving gps, ultrasonic or Microsoft’s Kinect to navigate without aid of the white cane. The cane has been very successful helping the blind user but has its limitations, such has unable to detect a object lift from the floor or water pit.
